Surface Profile Gauge

Surface Profile Gauge for blasting will allow the peak to valley height of blast-cleaned surfaces to be accurately measured in accordance with ASTM D4417 Method B standard. An analog profile meter is essential in assessing degree surface preparation or surface cleanliness before painting application. The analogue profile gauge is initially set to zero with a glass plate. To measure profile, the needle of the gage is placed on the surface, and the base of the gage is then placed on the blasted surface. The foot sits above the peaks, allowing the surface profiler to display peak-to-valley height. A number of measurements can be made and average taken for accurate results of blasted surface profile. In addition, the analogue profile gauge can be used to measure the effects of corrosion, i.e. pitting and cavity depth. It can also be used as per ASTM D4417 specifications.
